The Solar Decathlon, organized by the U S Department of Energy, is a competition in which teams of students from around the world attempt to design, construct and operate the most attractive and energy-efficient solar-power house.

Based on the excellent efficiency and durability found in our Daikin products, we were asked for the second consecutive year to sponsor the project. This year we donated an innovative system called "Altherma" a total domestic heating and hot water system based on air source heat pump technology. It represents a flexible and cost-effective alternative to a fossil fuel boiler, with a cooling option. The inherent energy efficiency characteristics of Daikin Altherma make it an ideal solution to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
